LEAD.MOD5 - Leadership Workshop: Leveraging Power, Politics and Negotiations to Accelerate Performance
Program Overview
Seminar Overview
Evolving societal norms and values ultimately make their way into workplace behaviors and norms. For example, the “shock” of the pandemic and “shift” of relocating workers from the office building to a home office is having a potentially disruptive effect on traditional political and power models in the workplace.
Given this reality, the session will provide participants with insights into:
- Sources of power and strategies to build it when you need a boost to achieve your goals;
- Recognizing and responding to organizational politics;
- Negotiating your way to more productive and collaborative outcomes in times of conflict.
The learning plan for these topics will be facilitated with scenario-based discussions and directed small group activities. Participants should also come prepared to share two situations they have observed or experienced at work they believe are examples of power plays or politics.
